My opinion of the poem “Sympathy”
My opinion of the poem is that it was a great poem it was sad but had very nice parts in the poem it showed me how it went or elabotrated on how the poem went and made me feel the caged birds pain.
“But a plea, that upward to heaven he flings”: cage bird seems to be getting desperate to fling a prayer upward.
When I read the poem I felt: Sad that the bird was locked up all day and he knows how the bird feels.
I feel this way because: I know what they feel.
How does the author feel about slavery: He thinks slavery is horrible cause the bird is locked up like slaves and can’t get free.
I know this because: He talks about it all through the poem.
I know the bird beats his wing/till bloody red he knows the bird wants to get out of the cage and be free.
